Wayfinding for Healthcare Facilities – the draft CSA Standard

Presentation: CSA Wayfinding Standard

Wayfinding is often often tacked on at the end of a project.  The impact of poor planning and design of wayfinding has huge impacts for users of the facility – confusion and added stress for patients and their support teams.

This new Standard currently in draft for public review establishes requirements for the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and continual improvement of wayfinding systems for HCFs. Gordon Burrill, a committee development member and technical committee member of numerous CSA healthcare standards and trainer, will overview the draft in its current form and some of the elements that are pushing the envelope of wayfinding and signage.  Learn what is coming down the pipe and how it may affect your facility planning.
