The BC government in its recent budget has decided to put several LTC projects on hold or ‘re-pace’ their delivery. This extraordinary step where beds are badly needed and so many hospitals beds are stacked with ALC patients waiting for space in LTC presents a significant challenge to BC’s health system and we are concerned that the toll on the already stressed health system will break the current bandwidth.
CCHF thought it would be timely to bring together the industry and government leaders to share how we got here and how can we empower the sector to take back and initiate opportunities to develop more LTC beds in perhaps new and innovative ways and explore other potential avenues.
