Michael is an accomplished architect and design leader whose portfolio spans new construction, major renovations, and heritage preservation projects across Canada. As Architecture49’s Prairies Design Practice Lead, he provides leadership for design excellence across the region, championing innovative, client-focused solutions that balance creativity, functionality, and technical rigor.
Known for his thoughtful and highly collaborative approach, Michael has led multidisciplinary teams on a diverse range of projects, including educational facilities, performing arts venues, museum renovations, corporate workplaces, and complex institutional developments. His ability to translate client vision into compelling architectural solutions has resulted in projects that are both memorable and enduring.
Michael is also the Design Architect for the Healthcare Centre of Excellence (HCCE) in Winnipeg. In this role, he is helping shape a world-class healthcare environment that supports advanced surgical care, innovation, education, and patient-centered design. His work focuses on integrating clinical requirements, operational needs, and architectural excellence to create spaces that enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and the broader healthcare system.
A native Winnipegger, Michael recently returned to his hometown after studying and practicing architecture in Montreal and New York City. Drawing on this broad design experience, he serves as a key design leader within Architecture49, guiding projects from concept through realization while advancing the firm’s commitment to design quality across the Prairies and beyond.
