Tanya Campbell has nearly 25 years of experience in health care. She started her career as a medical-surgical nurse. In 2002, she found her niche in the Emergency Department at Providence Health Care’s St. Paul’s Hospital, where she served as a nurse, clinical nurse leader and educator. She also inspired future nurses as an Emergency clinical instructor at BCIT. Always up for a challenge, in 2020, Tanya pivoted into the role of clinical informatics specialist and that same year joined the New St. Paul’s Hospital Project is British Columbia’s largest capital healthcare project. In her role on the project’s clinical team as a Senior Project and Change Management Lead, she’s the point person for the Critical Care Complex and Emergency Services teams, helping them envision and design their future spaces and models of care. To keep her finger on the pulse of frontline challenges and indulge her calling of providing compassionate, patient-centred care to people with complex medical and social service needs, she still serves the occasional nursing shift in the Emergency Department at St. Paul’s.
