Tanis has worked most of her career in the field of Child and Youth Mental Health. She hold a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work and has worked in Manitoba and across three Health Authorities in BC. Her work has involved developing programs for youth in both acute care and community settings. She has played a key role in developing three inpatient mental health units here in BC, the most recent the CYCDU. In addition , Tanis was instrumental in the successful application to participate in the first roll-out of Foundry sites. This leadership saw a transformation of both inpatient and community services for youth on the North Sore over the past few years. Providing client centred care and optimizing opportunities for youth and families to engage in service development has always been a priority for Tanis. These most recent projects, CYCDU and Foundry North Shore, are both excellent examples of this approach to service development.
