Susan Neil

Susan Neil is Executive Vice President at Hanscomb, an independent Quantity Surveying firm that for the third consecutive year has earned Platinum Elite status for working on the country’s biggest infrastructure projects. For sixty years Hanscomb has been providing clients with the tools they need to control costs, manage risks and help ensure the successful completion of a wide variety of projects located throughout North America, the Middle East, and around the world.

Susan graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and moved on to Toronto to earn a Bachelor of Technology in Project Management at Ryerson University. Landing her first job as a Quantity Surveyor at Hanscomb fresh out of Ryerson, Susan has been an integral part of Hanscomb’s growth and success as a major Quantity Surveying firm.  She is considered one of the country’s most prominent healthcare cost consulting experts particularly when it comes to Master Planning and Total Project Costs.  Over her 30-year career at Hanscomb she has worked closely with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and can navigate effortlessly through the Capital Variance Template (CSA), Cost Share Agreement (CSA) and Final Estimate of Cost (FEC) based on her experience and knowledge of the Capital Cost Share Guide and Capital Planning Process.

Susan is currently overseeing billions of dollars’ worth of infrastructure projects like SickKids Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, University Health Network, Lakeridge Health, Trillium Health Partners, North York General, Scarborough Health Network and many more.
