Sarah Thorn

Sarah Thorn is an accomplished healthcare professional with two decades of dedicated experience in facilities management and project delivery. Presently, she holds the role of Manager of Planning and Projects within Fraser Health’s Facilities Management group. Since 2004, Sarah has made significant contributions to the Lower Mainland Health Authorities, including Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health, as part of their Facilities Management Capital projects group.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Sarah actively engages with the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES) as an Executive Board member and currently serves as the CHES BC Chapter Chair. With over 15 years of dedicated volunteer service to CHES, she continues to lend her invaluable expertise and leadership to propel the field of healthcare engineering forward, promoting best practices for healthcare facilities across Canada.

Sarah also serves as a dedicated Committee Member for the Canadian Standards Association, where she plays an integral role in shaping the latest CSA Z317.13 standards, drawing upon her extensive knowledge and experience to advance healthcare facility standards in Canada.
