Mike is the Design Director at Healthcare Human Factors, a consultancy based in UHN, Canada’s largest hospital network. With a background in biomedical engineering, product design, and tech entrepreneurship, Mike leads teams that focus on healthcare design and strategy. Mike directs projects ranging from the creation of health apps for patients and providers to new services and spaces in hospitals. Mike is also an instructor at OCAD University’s Design for Health Masters program and University of Toronto’s Masters in Health Informatics program.
Mike is passionately working to create a healthcare system that seamlessly cares for and supports patients throughout their experience. Combining technology, new models of care, and intentional service design, his goal is to elevate the experiences for everyone involved in care —patients, families, and providers— while also grappling with challenges of capacity and access.
