Cameron Love


Cameron Love received his Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa.  After receiving his master’s, Cameron worked at the Ministry of Health until joining The Ottawa Hospital in 1998.

Cameron has been responsible for managing a variety of operational departments leading up to his current position as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. In his current portfolio, Cameron manages and leads the operation of variety of clinical programs including Critical Care, Medicine, Nephrology, Geriatrics, Neurosciences, Ambulatory Care, Eye Care, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mental Health and Rehabilitation. In addition, Cameron is responsible for the operation of support services including Logistical Services, Housekeeping, Nutrition and Food Services, Facilities Management and Planning, which to date has included the implementation of an approximate $750 M capital development plan. Finally, Cameron’s portfolio also includes a number of professional services including Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacy, Radiation Safety, Social Work, Respiratory Therapy and Spiritual Care.

Most recently, from December 2009 to September 2010, Cameron was also appointed as the interim CEO of the Champlain Community Care Access Center.  Cameron was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the operational review recommendations, which were completed over his nine month term.

Cameron participates actively in the education of future health-care executives in his role as a preceptor to residents of the University of Ottawa’s Masters in Health Administration Program and leads and participates in a number of regional initiatives associated with the planning of clinical and support services within the Champlain region.

Cameron is also a member of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives (CCHSE) and is involved in many regional and provincial initiatives, committees and task forces.
