Lyle Scott

A trained mechanical engineer specializing in energy efficiency and sustainable development, Lyle is Footprint’s founding and managing Principal. Providing leadership to one of Canada’s largest energy and sustainability teams, Lyle’s greatest strength is collaborating with architects, engineers, and developers to create the most appropriate sustainability solution. Having worked as a facilities manager at the Hospital for Sick Children and as a developer and contractor, Lyle’s well-rounded experience is very valuable for clients. For many years, Lyle has played a leadership role in this industry, serving as a founding member of Sustainable Buildings Canada and holding numerous positions within the Canada Green Building Council (currently chair of the CaGBC LEED Management Committee). Lyle has also served as a technical resource to the cities of Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary and as an advisor to sustainability programs at Humber College and the University of Toronto. He has also played an instrumental leadership role in several sustainability “firsts”, including the first CaGBC multi-residential building. He has championed many other low-carbon and LEED projects bridging all building types and sectors.
