The pandemic showed us how much we could accomplish when we work together, rowing in the same direction, to put the needs of patients first but it also highlighted our physical and environmental short-comings, growing inequities in care and unprecedented levels of provider burnout. Care is directly impacted by the environmental experience of patients and care providers and we must do better moving forward. UHN is Canada’s largest research hospital and one of the world’s leading hospitals, located in one of the most diverse cities in the world. With hospital doors open again, we are focused on creating world-class environments in which all patients feel safe and cared; and providers feel supported and proud of the spaces where they care for some of the sickest patients.
