Wayne Ferguson

Wayne joined EllisDon in 1998 and has dedicated nearly 30 years of his career to the company. He started as a Project Superintendent, and during his first 11 years, made notable contributions to a series of multimillion-dollar projects, including Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto South Detention Centre, Trillium Health Centre – West Wing Addition, and the Art Gallery of Ontario Transformation. Wayne’s career rapidly progressed with an impressive series of promotions, from General Superintendent in 2009 to Operations Manager in 2011. In the latter role, he provided oversight of major projects, such as Siemens Canada Electrical Transfer Stations and Londonderry Mall Expansion. In 2016, Wayne was named Vice President, Public-Private Partnerships, and the following year was appointed EllisDon’s Senior Vice President (“SVP”) and Area Manager in Ottawa.

In 2024, Wayne was promoted to SVP, Construction, Buildings (overseeing Ottawa, Québec, and Atlantic Canada regions), at which time he was recognized for his many achievements, including his commitment to furthering the success of EllisDon’s brand and reputation in the Ottawa area. Later that same year, he was named Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) and Executive Vice President (“EVP”), Infrastructure Services, where he oversees EllisDon’s division for Facilities Services, Furniture, Equipment & Design, Energy & Digital Services, Project Advisory & Management groups, and Middle East and North Africa. Wayne collaborates with EllisDon’s senior management and board of directors to identify opportunities for growth and develop go-to-market strategies.

In his career, Wayne has spearheaded numerous high-profile projects spanning multiple sectors, including Edmonton International Airport (transportation), Kearl Oil Sands North Maintenance Support Facility Building (oil and gas), and the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital (healthcare). He possesses a thorough understanding of site operations, production issues, coordination of subcontractors, and allocation of site resources. Among clients and colleagues, Wayne is renowned for his strong work ethic, disciplined approach, and consummate professionalism.

For more than 10 years, Wayne has served on the board of the Canadian Construction Association, a group that represents 18,000 member firms drawn from 63 local and provincial integrated partner associations. In this capacity, he works alongside industry leaders to inspire a progressive, innovative, and sustainable construction industry. Beyond his primary role, Wayne actively participates in Together, EllisDon’s employee-led group dedicated to empowering women and promoting gender equity in the construction industry.
