Natasha Bruno is a PhD student in Health Systems Research at the University of Toronto’s Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation. Funded as a Leong Centre Child Health Equity Scholar and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Graduate Scholar, her doctoral research explores the evolution of healthcare networks for youth with medical complexity during the transition from paediatric to adult health systems. Under the supervision of Dr. Eyal Cohen and Dr. Julia Orkin, her work applies social network analysis and leverages health administrative data to uncover systemic disparities in continuity of care and inform strategies for system-level improvement.
Natasha earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science in Health Promotion from Queen’s University. These experiences shaped her commitment to equity-driven health system reform and translating evidence into action to improve healthcare for underserved communities.
In addition to her graduate studies, Natasha is a Clinical Research Project Manager at SickKids’ Research Institute, where she co-designs and implements initiatives that aim to strengthen complex care programs across Canada and beyond. Through her work, she aspires to foster cross-sector partnerships to address complex health system challenges and optimize services for youth with medical complexity, with a focus on applied child health and system science research.
