Miriam Stewart

Miriam Stewart has been serving the Lower Mainland as a healthcare leader for 35+ years. Miriam recognizes the challenge of building a sustainable health care system, and is interested in initiating and leading evidence-informed improvements locally, regionally and provincially.

Miriam has strong ties to British Columbia; she has worked as a staff nurse, manager, director and regional director in acute facilities across the lower mainland. She has held many progressive leadership positions, with a focus on Acute Care. In her role as the Regional Director for Critical Care Vancouver Coastal Health / Providence Health Care Miriam leads quality initiatives and clinical standardization.

Now Miriam is shaping the future of Vancouver’s healthcare strategy as the Chief Clinical Planning Officer of the St. Paul’s Redevelopment Project. Miriam, in partnership with physician leader Dr. Jeff Pike, has successfully lead the planning of clinical services, indicative design development, and the submission of the business case for one of the largest capital healthcare hospital projects in British Columbia. Her strong clinical background has been foundational to the planning process.
