Grant Vivian

Area Manager, Infrastructure Support

Grant came to health care from a manufacturing background. Having graduated from an Electronics Engineering Technology program, his career began in design/manufacture of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment for military, telecommunications and industrial applications. During his tenure in manufacturing he was responsible for many different facets of operations including management of facilities, capital equipment acquisition, materials and production. Since joining Eastern Health in 2009 in a facilities management role, the depth and breadth of his responsibilities has evolved from a three building combination of acute/long term care sites to a portfolio of 14+ sites focused on Long Term Care, Mental Health and Addictions and Centralized Services.

During the St. John’s Long Term Care project build, Grant lead the interface between the construction process and the clinical/operations groups striving to ensure the build would best meet resident service delivery needs. On substantial completion of the build, Grant then championed the fit up and turn up of the facility as it came into operation.
