Donna Rothwell, a Registered Nurse, and is currently a Principal in the Project Delivery Office at Stantec Consultants, Toronto, ON. She is responsible for healthcare operational readiness planning and project management for hospital redevelopments and new builds.
Donna graduated from Conestoga College in Guelph with her diploma in Nursing, and graduated with her Bachelors of Science Degree from Charles Sturt University, Australia. In June 2012 she obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Charles Sturt University. Donna also attended and successfully completed the Johnson and Johnson’s Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives at the Wharton University of Pennsylvania, USA in June 2010.
Donna held the position of Chief Nursing and Professional Practice Officer from October 2006 – October 2012 at the Niagara Health System. Previously a Program Director for Women’s and Babies and Children’s Health at the Niagara Health System and Site Director for the St. Catharines and Ontario Street Site of the NHS.
Donna was the Region 3 Regional Representative (2010-2012) on the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario’s (RNAO) Board of Directors. She previously held this position as Region 3 Regional Representative on the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario’s (RNAO) Board of Directors from 1991-1997. During this time frame she was the Chairperson of the Editorial Advisors for the Registered Nurse Journal of the RNAO, for which she received an award for her leadership in this role. From 1997 to 2006 Donna was the Regional Education Coordinator for the College of Nurses of Ontario. In this role, she has provided leadership and education on the standards of practice for hundreds of nurses in the Central South region of Ontario.
She is currently the President for the Registered Nurses Associations Ontario’s Nursing Leadership Network’s (NLN) Board of Directors (2014-2016)
Donna was the recent recipient of the Niagara Health System’s 2009 President’s Award for demonstrating leadership throughout the organization.
