Derek Lall

Derek Lall is the Director of Capital Re-Development, Facilities, Engineering, Security and Parking at London Health Sciences Centre, a 5.5 million sq. ft, 15,000 staff, large acute, academic and research healthcare facility in London, Canada.

Derek is a diverse experienced leader with 30 years in the healthcare industry in designing, building science, project management, strategic planning, master planning, innovation, P3 development, procurement, sustainable planning and management of operations. Derek currently is responsible for capital planning, facilities design, engineering/maintenance, waste and energy management, safety, 11MW Power Plant operations, security and parking.

With a strong focus on metrics for data-driven decision-making, Derek utilizes Business Intelligence (BI) to guide strategic planning for investment in infrastructure renewal for dependability and reliability, to develop environmentally sustainable solutions for the short and long term and forge a work plan to help the over 100 staff fulfill our goals of continued customer improvement to help meet the needs and demands of our 15,000 staff, 1M patient visits per year. It has allowed for integrated and sustainable Facilities Management Operations.

Derek is committed to the long-term sustainability of facilities, the healthcare system and the community. Derek serves on various industry committees, does speaking engagements and is a member of the Board for Ronald McDonald House, London, Ontario, on the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society, Ontario as a Chapter Education Chair and a member of the Honeywell HUGS Steering Committee for Healthcare.
