As the Vice President of Adult Critical Care and Medical Professional Affairs, Cindy is responsible for oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of telemedicine via the Electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) for Advocate Health Care. In this capacity Ms. Welsh collaborates with Advocate’s ten hospital, fifteen ICU as well as its outreach site’s clinical managers and medical directors to improve patient safety and outcomes via various clinical and process improvement initiatives. Additionally, she has system wide responsibility to reduce variation in critical care so that clinical outcomes improve and costs decrease.
Cindy is also responsible for oversight and coordination of the credentialing and privileging processes for Advocate which included an entire redesign of the physician onboarding process in 2014. With a 30+ year nursing career, Ms. Welsh has contributed to patient care delivery redesign, nursing management and clinical practice. She holds a BSN and MBA from Lewis University and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Epsilon Upsilon chapter, the American Telemedicine Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and has published several articles. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
