Christine Vis has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. She graduated from University of British Columbia with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1991. In 2002, after re-locating to Alberta, Christine found her passion in the area of Trauma Nursing at the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) which is the sole Level One Trauma Centre in Southern Alberta. After a few years as frontline clinical staff, Christine began her journey into leadership and management within Trauma. She currently remains in a leadership role at the FMC but also serves as the co-chair of the Alberta Trauma Services Core Leadership Team. While her heart rests in Trauma, she has expanded her passions to include involvement with numerous education and quality improvement initiatives including the commissioning of the Interventional Trauma Operating Room (ITOR) and the re-location of the helipad at the FMC.
