With over 25 years’ experience, Carolina Chan brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Project Director, Planning & Design on the Waterloo Regional Health Network’s (WRHN) major campus redevelopment project. The two hospitals (Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital) have recently merged and are planning the build of a New Acute Hospital. Prior to WRHN, Carolina was in a similar role as Project Director, Design and Equipment Planning at SickKids for almost 7 years on their major capital redevelopment, Project Horizon.
Before joining the hospital side, Carolina was at NORR Architects & Engineers, where she was a Project Architect/Project Manager and Associate. In the early days of her career, she worked on a great variety of projects, from offices, sports arenas, hotels and casinos, OPP detachments and forensic buildings, before ultimately finding her passion and specializing in healthcare laboratories and hospital design. She has managed many high-profile health sciences facilities, both locally in the GTA and nationally, in all aspects of planning, design, and construction.
