Community Wellbeing Design – A Framework for Healthcare Planning and Design

DIALOG, in partnership with the Conference Board of Canada collaborated on a two-year research study to define community wellbeing and how it is affected by the built environment.

The resulting Framework is a an open-source methodology for designing places, or the built environment, within the interests of the wellbeing of a community, or occupants of a place. Indicators and metrics for Social, Environmental, Economic, Cultural and Political domains guide design professionals, project stakeholders, and community members to make design decisions that positively contribute to wellbeing.
