We are already seeing the delivery of healthcare impacted by climate change when surgeries are cancelled due to excessive temperature. Climate science is now at the point that it is providing predictive models that can be used to guide decisions on making sure facilities will better stand the test of time. At the same time there are increasing requirements to reduce carbon emissions that are the primary culprit driving higher temperatures. Several projects will be reviewed as to current and future impacts due to increasing temperatures and weather events and what can be done about them, and to look at how some are responding with low carbon resilience strategies.
