As Canada’s healthcare system evolves toward integrated, patient-centered models, Unity Health Toronto has developed a system-level Multi-Campus Planning Framework to guide long-term redevelopment across its three hospitals: St. Joseph’s Health Centre, St. Michael’s Hospital, and Providence Campus of Care. Spanning more than 3 million square feet and the full continuum of care, the Framework aligns clinical programming, site capacity, infrastructure renewal, and phased investment over a 20–30-year horizon. This presentation explores how distinct master plans were unified into a single roadmap for coordinated system-wide growth, with lessons from diverse urban contexts. The Unity Health model offers a replicable approach to high-performing healthcare redevelopment at scale.
- Understand how clinical programming can serve as the foundation for capital planning across diverse hospital campuses, supporting more integrated, patient-centered care.
