Anita Wempe is the Chief Clinical Planner at Fraser Health, where she leads the clinical planning and operational readiness for the Burnaby Hospital Redevelopment Project, one of the region’s most significant healthcare transformations. This multi-phase initiative includes the significant renovations of existing facilities alongside the construction and opening of a state-of-the-art patient care tower, all designed to meet the evolving needs of the community.
With more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, Anita has held key roles across Fraser Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). Her expertise spans a wide continuum of care, including acute, community, primary, and cancer services. A registered nurse with a Master of Health Administration, Anita brings a unique blend of frontline clinical insight and strategic leadership to complex system planning and delivery.
Committed to lifelong learning, Anita is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology Counselling. Through this work, she is deepening her ability to support individuals, teams, and healthcare systems in navigating the increasing complexity of today’s care environments with resilience, empathy, and effectiveness.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Anita is a devoted mother to her teenage son. She is deeply passionate about promoting mental health, overall well-being, and physical activity, values that influence both her personal life and her leadership approach.
