The near-constant change in healthcare means Doug Bazuin is seldom without an emerging trend to identify, data-driven insight to uncover, or new information to share. For the past 14 years, he’s been focused on researching healthcare environments across the continuum of care for Herman Miller’s Insight + Exploration team. That work has led him to become an internal expert for Herman Miller—leading research programs to support new product development initiatives. He’s also active outside the company, speaking at industry symposiums and writing articles for trade publications and peer-reviewed journals.
Doug has been a Herman Miller employee since 2000. During that time, he has been involved in several new product launches, including the Compass System. Doug received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. He also holds an Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) from the Center for Health Design, and he earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
